The Journey walk from Troy to Unity this morning (Saturday) was a great success, despite the rain. A huge pot-luck and a warm and dry space was waiting for them at the Clifford Arts Center. I saw Friends from Falmouth Quarter showing up to lend their support (Fritz and Paula Weiss, Wendy Schlotterbeck, Jay O’Hara and Meg Klepack, others?). Tables were overflowing with delicious food and the walkers were cheerful and happy, and mostly dry, under their outer wear.
They are keeping on schedule with the help of shuttle vans and volunteers for those unable to complete the scheduled daily distance.
Maggie Edmondson of Winthrop Friends, and representing Maine Quakers, will be bringing the message to the closing circle tomorrow, Sunday, ETA about 6 PM.
Pot luck food and Friendly greetings from Maine Friends will be gratefully received tomorrow afternoon at Friends Camp.
Susan will be bringing a large Indonesian Rice Salad and some jugs of cider.
